HGTV star Christina Hall’s estranged husband is asking for privacy on Instagram while also sharing that the couple’s split wasn’t his idea.
The “Flip or Flop” and “Christina on the Coast” star and Josh Hall separately filed divorce documents in Orange County, California, last month after almost three years of marriage.
“I prefer privacy, especially during something as life changing as a divorce I did not ask for,” the 43-year-old real estate agent wrote Friday, along with a photo showing him casually clad in a baseball cap and jersey, resting his head on his 9-year-old dog Stella, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. “I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately the internet is forever.”

He added: “We are real humans, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time. Those who know each of us, know who we are.”

A day later, Christina Hall, 41, posted a portrait of herself with her three kids − 13-year-old Taylor, 8-year-old Brayden and 4-year-old Hudson − from her previous marriages to "Flip or Flop" co-host Tarek El Moussa and British TV personality Ant Anstead. “My little loves,” she captioned it with a heart emoji.According to Orange County Superior Court divorce filings previously obtained by USA TODAY, Christina Hall and Josh Hall cited irreconcilable differences and indicated they separated in July.

The couple quietly married on Oct. 6, 2021. Almost a year later, they held a ceremony in Maui. Christina Hall announced her engagement to Josh Hall in September 2021, debuting a big sparkly ring on Instagram two months after she went public with their relationship.
In his filing, Josh Hall requests spousal support from his estranged wife, while Christina Hall asks the court to not award alimony to either party. They did not have any children together.
Josh Hall also asks for the rights to TV series and specials they made during their marriage to be deemed community property that will be divided equally.
In May, the Halls announced a "spicy" new HGTV show called "The Flip Off," which will co-star Christina Hall's first husband and his wife, "Selling Sunset" real estate agent Heather Rae El Moussa.
The series will have the Halls and El Moussas battling "to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain." Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa were married from 2009 to 2018, which coincided with the run of "Flip of Flop" from 2013 to 2022.
In July 2021, Christina Hall opened up in a now-deleted Instagram post about the beginnings of her relationship with Josh.
"When we met this past spring, the synchronicities hit us so hard and fast they were impossible to ignore," she wrote. "I felt immediately crazy protective over him and wanted to keep him for myself and get to know each other before the tornado (media attention) hit. We've had a few solid months of just us getting to know each other and I've loved every second of it."
