Piers Morgan is issuing a public apology to Jay-Z and Beyoncé after airing claims against the couple from blogger Jaguar Wright.
The "Piers Morgan Uncensored" interview, in which Wright also discussed the claims of sex trafficking against Sean "Diddy" Combs and the larger music industry, has since been edited after the couple's lawyers reached out, Morgan said on his show Tuesday.
The episode featured interviews with Wright, a former collaborator of Jay-Z, as well as YouTuber DJ Vlad, about the abuse and assault claims against Combs. Wright used the platform to also air unsubstantiated allegations that the couple is involved in similar criminal activity.
"Jaguar Wright unexpectedly made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves. But now they have."
Morgan said the couple's lawyers noted the claims were "totally false and have no basis in fact," and that his show was complying with a legal request to remove parts of the interview.

"Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called 'Uncensored,' but like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us, too," he said. "And we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé."
He added: "That's the thing about platforms: The reality of the modern world is that pretty much everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear. That's why we invited her on to be interviewed."
Wright could not be reached for comment.
Sean 'Diddy' Combsappeals to get out of jail ahead of federal sex crimes trial
Combs, who was arrested on Sept. 16 and arraigned on sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution charges the following day, has been incarcerated in the Special Housing Unit at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since.
Combs has lost multiple bids to be released on bail and is appealing once again for his release.
